What is a Health & Wellness Coach?

Let’s be honest, we all know what the basics are in order to live a happy, healthy life right? I mean it’s seemingly simple, eat well, look after your physical and mental health, get proper sleep and engage in activity which promotes your wellbeing.  But that’s easier said than done for most of us, more often than not life happens and our intentions fall by the wayside.

There are many reasons and excuses we frequently tell ourselves why we can’t reach our goals; I don’t have enough time, I’m too stressed with work, my family commitments take priority and so on….so it’s easy to see why many of us feel stuck, frustrated or dare I say it unhappy with what our lives look like.

So that’s where a health and wellness coach come in, we act as a support to help our clients with their goals, whether that be to create work/life balance, better manage their stress, improve their energy levels or adopt a healthier eating plan.  By acting as a mentor, we empower you to make long-term sustainable changes to your life that have a profound impact on your sense of wellbeing and contentment.

We share our knowledge, tools and most importantly our experiences within the holistic health spectrum, and we are here to hold space for you, to listen and observe in a non-judgemental approach which is never controlled or forced.

At the core of our philosophy, we treat everyone as unique and different, a term we call bio-individuality in the health and wellness field.   Like many aspects of our lives, there isn’t a one-fits-all solution and let’s be frank what works for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for another.  Health is complex and multidimensional, there are so many variables that it’s impossible for all our needs to be the same, therefore, it’s important to understand that there's a lot more to it than just making the “right choices”.

How Does it Work & Who Does it Benefit?

Our focus is on whole person holistic wellness with emphasis on addressing mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual components.  We encourage our clients to dig deep and look at the cause of their issues or challenges, rather than the issue itself. We help people to discover the reason behind their why and provide guidance and support through experimentation of what works for them as an individual, in order to thrive at that point in their life.

I offer 1:1 programs which span over a 3 or 6 month period with sessions taking place once or twice a month dependant on client needs.  Sessions are led by the client and driven by their primary desires and outcomes.  Some may start their programs with a clear idea of what they want, others have no clue where to start and they develop organically over the period we work together.  There is no wrong or right here, it’s about creating a safe space for individuals to be their most authentic selves, allowing them to explore and understand what changes they want to see, all in a supportive, honest and flexible environment.

As well as 1:1 clients I also specialise in Coaching in the Workplace where there has been a huge shift in focus for organisations who are understanding the importance of employee health & wellbeing and how that impacts on effective teamwork, productivity and collaboration.  With many adopting a hybrid or remote working approach, this signifies less facetime for managers and leadership teams, which can be incredibly challenging.  This inevitably impacts on connection and relationships within the workplace, and sadly this can result in low morale and disengagement.  Providing Health & Wellness coaching as part of employee benefits has proven to help retain and attract talent for organisations and is now viewed as a need to have, rather than a nice to have.

Health, happiness and wellbeing is never linear, in life there will always be bumps, tests, highs and lows which are often beyond our control which challenge us to our core.  However, there are so many things we have power over and by creating small, sustainable habits and goals these can lead to a bigger, better, brighter and more vibrant life which we ALL deserve!  Live your best life NOW!!  Feed the MIND, BODY & SOUL this isn’t a dress rehearsal, you owe it to YOURSELF!
